Nelson Zagalo is an assistant professor at the University of Minho. His main research work has been at the edge meeting points between film studies and entertainment virtual reality developing knowledge on the adaptation of cinematic emotions to virtual environments, employing a multidisciplinar approach and bringing together cognitive psychology, art theory, new media, and computer science. A big share has been dedicated to the emotional expression inside virtual environments within his PhD. Now he is looking for new projects and ideas mainly dedicated to the emotion modelling of virtual character experiences. His main research time is dedicated to work in the Center for Communication and Society Studies mainly in the group EngageLab and with the Portuguese Society for Videogames Sciences
